This year has been a big one so far, I can’t believe we are over halfway through 2019!
Back in March I made the decision to make my studio dreams a reality. I found and renovated a beautiful space in Sodo in the 1020 building in my hometown of Seattle, WA. I knew that I wanted to focus more of my work in studio as well as feeling the need to have a physical space to create. My process was already shifting before I had the keys.
I also missed having a space in the community to share with the community and build community around my passion. With our first open house in May and countless collaborations with other Seattle photogs, businesses and artists I have to say I am feeling super fulfilled.
I tend to always ask myself what’s next, and I know that I want to focus even more of my time, energy and art on studio portraiture. The deeper I dive the more I want to swim.
In every portrait session there is always one image that just jumps off the screen that I instantly connect with. I can feel the energy that they were giving me and I sit with the utmost gratitude for their vulnerability.
I love being a photographer and the conduit it is in getting to know people. I love knowing at the end of the day I am giving a gift to my clients that sparks joy will be around for generations.
